Backpacking

Twice this week we’ve been invited to dinner only to realize after nap time that Lillian has a fever and we can’t go to dinner as a family.  I really thought she was well today.  She hadn’t had a fever for almost 24 hours.  She was really whiney and crying at the drop of a hat as we were getting ready to leave for dinner tonight and Bruce said, “She’s still sick.  Take her temperature.”  Lillian cried, “No don’t take it now, before we leave!”  She knew the result wasn’t going to be good.  She was right.

On Monday night Bruce went to visit with friends and pick us up some food while I stayed home with the kids so tonight was my turn to get out.  Eli and I got all bundled up and headed out in the snow.  I knew he wouldn’t make it the whole way walking and he’s getting big to trek around on my hip so I strapped him to my back and we headed out.

It was a wonderful night visiting with friends and eating soup.  A great way to end our snow day!
